Wilson Contractors carried out a separable proportion of the contract works as a subcontractor to Downer. Works included cutting to waste the existing surface and cutting down to subgrade including the shaping and compaction of subgrade, excavation of soft spots and supply and construction of base course. The construction of concrete kerbing and edging included 550m of kerb prep, 800m3 of road sub base and base course preparation and 140m footpaths. The new PE watermain comprised of 450m of 355mm OD PE Pipe, 245m of 125mm PE Pipe, 400m of 63mm PE pipe, as well as numerous valves, tees, hydrants and connections.The construction of the watermain included supplying all pipes and fittings, trenching, laying, jointing, including butt welds, fusion welds and mechanical fittings. Testing was completed in-house, including weld samples of both Fusion and Butt welds, Pressure tests and Chlorination.
